Hypro HY-AIS A (Automatic Identification System)
AIS is a Very High Frequency (VHF) radio broadcasting system that transmits data via the VHF Data Link (VDL) to send and receive information automatically to other ships, VTS or SROP stations. By implementing an AIS system, it will be able to help regulate ship traffic and reduce hazards in navigation.
AIS will continuously send ship data such as ship name and type, call sign, ship nationality, Maritime Mobile Services Identities (MMSI), International Maritime Organization (IMO) Number, ship weight, ship specification data, navigation status, ship coordinates, sailing destination with estimated time of arrival, ship speed and ship bow.
